SEASONAL Potato Harvest Labor

Work location – Port Elgin, NB

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States and around the world. We have two state-of-the-art potato processing plants in PEI, another in Jamestown, ND and Lethbridge, Alberta and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, ON. Our Head office is in Dieppe, NB and sales office locations are in Toronto, Montreal and Boston.

Cavendish Farms is looking for Farm Labourers for a period of 3-6 weeks. Expected start date is September 2nd, 2024. The exact start date and period of work will be dependent on weather and business needs.

Qualifications:

Safety and Quality focused
Physically fit to stand for extended period of time.
High level of attention to detail
Ability to work in close proximity to moving harvest equipment
Farm experience is an asset
Able to lift 50lbs regularly
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends
Key Responsibilities:

Identify and pick out potatoes according to preset standards
Effectively communicate with coworkers and management to ensure safety and the ability to plan work around harvest operations
Contribute to the team’s goals and provide feedback on how to better operations
Flexible schedule to accommodate harvest weather windows
All other duties as assigned
All field operations are local to Port Elgin, NB and surrounding area.
