Position Title: Farm Labourer
Location: 8816 RTE 11 New Bandon, NB
Hodnett Farms raises 190 Red Angus/Simmental cows on an approximate 500-acre farm. Calving
annually during winter months from both Artificial Insemination and Charolais bulls. Hodnett
Farms has achieved the New Brunswick Cattle Producer of the Year award in recognition of their
successful farming practices in the past years of operation.
Development of an on-farm butcher shop has begun in spring of 2024. Their goal is to continue
raising Red Angus/Simmental Cows to provide local meat produce for their region.
Demonstrating to current and future generations the importance of agriculture and local grown
food.
Hodnett Farms is looking to fill the role of Farm Labourer. The job requires a motivated individual
to join the team in the spring, summer, and fall months, providing basic skills on the farm in New
Bandon, New Brunswick.

The Farm Labourer role has the following responsibilities:
• Repair livestock fencing
• Painting machinery
• Aid in machinery repair and maintenance
• Basic carpentry work
• Operating equipment based on their ability
• Basic soil sampling

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would possess the following skills and abilities:
• Ability to operate farm equipment,
• Ability to complete basic carpentry and mechanical maintenance,
• Have a valid driver’s license,
• Desire and ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed;
• Desire and ability to complete physical labour (Repairing livestock fencing, painting
machinery, aiding in machinery repair and maintenance, carpentry work, soil sampling
fields to aid in crop health, operating equipment based on ability); and
• Willing to travel to work

Farm Labourer position is at Hodnett Farms located in Northern, NB East of Bathurst. The address
is 8816 RTE 11, New Bandon. Hodnett Farms is a beef cattle operation and currently building a
butcher shop. Hourly salary is $20/hr or more depending on experience with a 40/hr work week.
