Jasper Wyman & Son is hiring a dependable Farm Operations Technician for our wild blueberry operation. This is a full-time, seasonal role. 

The Farm Operations Technician plays a key support role within our farm team, working closely with the Farm Manager to assist with the day-to-day operations of a commercial wild blueberry farm. This hands-on position supports all aspects of crop production, equipment operation, maintenance activities, and harvest operations, while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Company standards.

Duties will include:

Assisting with daily farming activities, including Field preparation, fertilization and pesticide application,
Harvest operations, and supporting the Farm Manager with the coordination and completion of seasonal work plans.
Monitoring field conditions and communicating crop concerns, weather impacts, pest activity, and operational issues.
Assisting with the completion of operational tasks according to schedules and company standards.
Operating tractors, sprayers, harvesters, trucks, and other farm equipment safely and efficiently.
Performing routine equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs.
Reporting mechanical concerns and assisting with coordinating equipment repairs.
Supporting safe work practices and compliance with company procedures and agricultural regulations.
Promoting environmental stewardship and safe chemical handling practices.
Supporting inventory tracking for supplies, chemicals, fuel, and equipment spare parts.
Assisting the Farm Manager with operational reporting and planning.
Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications:

Experience in agriculture, farming, or farm operations is required. Experience in wild blueberry production is considered a strong asset.
Ability to operate agricultural equipment safely and efficiently.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting ability are considered assets.
Valid driver’s license, including a Class 1A license is an asset.
Pesticide Applicator Certificate, or willingness to obtain one, is required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is considered an asset.
Reliable and flexible, including weekends and travel during harvest season.
